Not cancer afterall

Shortly after having been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, I saw a second doctor and found I had been misdiagnosed.
I felt relieved.

Cancer

On April 10, 2010, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
At first I was angry. (The doctor was very casual about breaking the news to me.)
Then I was sad. (I began to worry about who would take care of my family and friends if I were to die.)
Then I felt confusion. (How could this happen? What did I do wrong?)
Then came the scariest part of all. Breaking the news to my family and friends.
I am at the stage now where I am thinking hard about and reflecting on my life. I am happy that I have been able to accomplish so much and have so much love surrounding me.

Nothing Yet

I have talked to several doctors and have been unable to get surgery.
I threw up a lot of blood today, so I am getting worried.
I need to have this kidney stone removed.

Hanging in there.

Today I spoke to a Urologist.
He is going to try to help me get the surgery I need.
The kidney stone has already damaged my kidney and needs to come out soon.
I am staying positive in the meantime.

Trauma

This past Saturday night, I suffered trauma to my right kidney. I lost a lot of blood, but am doing okay.
I will spend the next few days resting.

Kidney

I am off to see the doctor tomorrow.
I will either be having my kidney stone out then, or the doctor may wait until another day to do the surgery.
The stone was lodged in my kidney, but somehow came loose and is now embedded in the tube running from my kidney to my bladder.
I will update sometime soon.

Needles or Not

I am enjoying knitting in two ways.
I am enjoying knitting with needles and I am enjoying loom knitting.
I have found that both have different thing I like about them.
I know that between crochet, knitting, and loom knitting, I have Christmas covered.

Blanket

I have been working on my blanket on and off for some time.

I tried to work on it last night, but I was so sore from where a nurse had tried to give me an iv unsuccessfully in each arm yesterday when I returned to the er.
My arms now look like I was a victim of domestic violence.
I say if someone can't give an iv, they don't belong working in the er.

Anyway. I am hoping to work on my blanket this weekend.

When it rains, it pours.

My fiance went into the hospital on Tuesday and got his appendix removed. Wednesday he got sent home from the hospital. Thursday night I landed in the hospital with a kidney stone too large to pass, but the doctor decided to forgo surgery because the kidney stone is lodged in my kidney. I got sent home from the hospital Friday morning.
When it rains, it pours.

Ugh!

I need a vacation, but will settle for a massage.
Lately, things have been stressful.
Just when things start going right, they go wrong.
All I can do now is keep my head up and hope for the best.

Staying Warm

I am currently working on crocheting a blanket that is my own design.
It is cold as I am working on it and am nestled into my chair while wearing my Snuggie.
Once I finish the blanket, I am going to take a pic and post it.
